1. Our Commitment to Responsible Gambling
At PIPER, we believe that sports betting analysis should be approached with discipline, responsibility, and awareness. While our platform provides AI-powered analysis and picks to help users make more informed wagering decisions, we recognize that gambling can become problematic for some individuals and take this responsibility seriously.
We are committed to promoting responsible gambling practices among our users. We encourage every user to set personal limits, wager only what they can afford to lose, and treat sports betting as a form of entertainment — not as a source of income or a way to solve financial problems.
PIPER is an analysis platform, not a sportsbook. We do not accept, place, or facilitate bets. However, we understand that our analysis may influence wagering decisions, and we take that influence seriously by providing the resources and guidance below.
2. Age Restrictions
Sports betting is restricted to adults who meet the legal minimum age in their jurisdiction. On PIPER:
- United States: You must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to use the Service. Some states set the legal sports betting age at eighteen (18), but PIPER requires all U.S. users to be 21 or older as a matter of company policy.
- International: You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater.
We reserve the right to verify your age at any time. If we discover that a minor has created an account, we will immediately terminate that account and delete associated data.
3. Warning Signs of Problem Gambling
Problem gambling can develop gradually and may not always be obvious. If you or someone you know exhibits any of the following behaviors, it may indicate a gambling problem:
- Spending more money or time on gambling than you can afford or intended
- Chasing losses by increasing bet sizes or frequency to recover previous losses
- Borrowing money, selling possessions, or going into debt to fund gambling
- Feeling restless, irritable, or anxious when attempting to cut back or stop gambling
- Lying to family, friends, or others about the extent of your gambling activity
- Neglecting work, school, family obligations, or personal relationships due to gambling
- Using gambling as an escape from stress, depression, anxiety, or other emotional problems
- Experiencing repeated unsuccessful efforts to control, cut back, or stop gambling
- Needing to gamble with increasing amounts of money to achieve the same level of excitement
- Feeling guilty, ashamed, or hopeless about your gambling behavior
- Jeopardizing or losing significant relationships, jobs, or educational or career opportunities because of gambling
- Relying on others to provide money to relieve desperate financial situations caused by gambling
If you recognize any of these signs in yourself, please stop gambling immediately and seek help using the resources below. There is no shame in asking for help, and effective treatment is available.
4. Bankroll Management Guidance
If you choose to engage in sports betting, responsible bankroll management is essential. The following principles can help you maintain control:
- Set a budget: Determine the maximum amount you can afford to lose in a given week or month before you begin. This should be money you would otherwise spend on entertainment, not money needed for bills, savings, or essential expenses.
- Use unit sizing: Professional bettors typically risk between 1% and 5% of their total bankroll on any single wager. Never bet your entire bankroll on a single event, regardless of how confident you feel.
- Never chase losses: Losing streaks are a normal and inevitable part of sports betting. Resist the urge to increase your bet sizes to "make back" what you've lost. This is one of the most common paths to problem gambling.
- Set win and loss limits: Decide in advance at what point you will stop for the day, both for wins and losses. Walk away when you reach either limit.
- Keep records: Track all bets, including amounts wagered, outcomes, and running profit/loss. This creates accountability and helps you objectively assess your activity.
- Avoid emotional betting: Do not bet when you are intoxicated, upset, stressed, or otherwise emotionally compromised. Sound judgment is essential.
- Take breaks: Step away from betting regularly. If you find it difficult to take breaks, this may be a warning sign.
- Treat it as entertainment: View the money you allocate for betting as the cost of entertainment, similar to a movie or concert ticket. If you lose it, you've paid for the entertainment; if you win, it's a bonus.
5. Self-Exclusion
If you feel you need to take a break from sports betting analysis, PIPER supports your decision. You may:
- Pause your account: Contact us at support@piper.bet to temporarily suspend your account for a period of your choosing (3 Days, 30 days, 90 days, or 1 year).
- Permanently close your account: Request permanent account closure and deletion of your data. Once processed, this action cannot be reversed.
- Cancel your subscription: Cancel at any time through your account dashboard to stop receiving picks and analysis.
During any self-exclusion period, you will not be able to log in, access picks or analysis, or reactivate your account until the exclusion period expires. We take self-exclusion requests seriously and process them within twenty-four (24) hours.
Additionally, most states with legal sports betting offer formal self-exclusion programs through their gaming commissions. We strongly encourage users who struggle with gambling to enroll in their state's program, which will exclude you from all licensed sportsbooks operating in that state.

7. State Law Variations
Sports betting laws vary significantly across the United States. As of the date of this document, some states have fully legalized sports betting (both retail and online), some permit only retail betting, some have legalized but not yet launched, and some continue to prohibit sports betting entirely.
It is your sole responsibility to understand and comply with the sports betting laws applicable in your jurisdiction. PIPER provides analysis and informational content; we do not make any representation that sports betting is legal in your location. The availability of PIPER's content does not constitute an endorsement or assurance that you may lawfully place bets based on that content.
Key considerations:
- Some states require you to be physically present within state borders to place legal sports bets
- The legal minimum age for sports betting is 21 in most states, but 18 in some (e.g., Montana, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Wyoming)
- Certain types of bets (e.g., college sports prop bets) are prohibited in some states
- Tribal gaming compacts may affect availability in certain states
- Tax obligations on gambling winnings vary by state and must be reported to the IRS and applicable state tax authorities
We encourage you to consult your state's gaming commission or a legal professional if you have questions about the legality of sports betting in your jurisdiction.
8. Understanding PIPER's Role
It is important to understand what PIPER is and is not:
- PIPER is an AI-powered analysis and information platform
- PIPER is not a sportsbook, betting exchange, or gambling operator
- PIPER does not accept, place, or facilitate wagers
- PIPER does not guarantee winnings or positive outcomes
- PIPER does not provide financial or investment advice
- PIPER does encourage responsible use of our analysis
Our picks and analysis are based on AI models that are probabilistic in nature. Even the highest-confidence picks will lose a meaningful percentage of the time. Sports outcomes are inherently uncertain, and no analytical model can eliminate that uncertainty.
If you find that PIPER's analysis is contributing to unhealthy gambling behavior, we urge you to cancel your subscription and seek help immediately. Your well-being is more important than any wager.
Remember:
Gambling should be fun. The moment it stops being enjoyable and starts causing stress, financial hardship, or relationship problems, it's time to step back. Help is available 24/7 at 1-800-GAMBLER.
